The Return

who's the wanker with the pipe? This weekend a bunch of blokes and I traveled to the city of Leicester to celebrate Mr Kelly turning 24. This is where I spent 3 years of my life learning about life, computers and the Koran, so it was a little bit sentimental seeing the old place again. On the whole it was a huge success of a weekend! We went to Madferrit at the Leicester student Uni on Friday and then the De montfort student union on Saturday. Prior to going up, I got hold of a load of NUS cards off ebay which meant we were able to go to these places and I’m so glad I did because they were both great nights. Cheap booze and a super relaxed atmosphere, really allow you to let your hair down.

It is really hard to know where to start describing the best bits but I will try. For starters Mr Gomez was on true form. I reckon he has some mutant gene that prevents him from having any of the negative side effects of alcohol. With this great power comes great responsibility and he certainly doesn’t abuse it. I mean he is not the sort of bloke that would neck a bottle of wine at lunchtime, stand up topless in a public house and start screaming “bogeys” or anything like that. Nor would he then pass out only to awake a few hours later and get straight back on the rice and beers.

Then there was the thing that you have probably come here to see the most, the karaoke that Mr Kelly and Mr Gomez entertained us with. There rendition of “gangster’s paradise?? was world class and you can see the video for yourself here:

kelly and gomezs video of gansters paridise
N.B. its 90MB big.

It thought it would be hard to recall the other highlights and it is. Too hard in fact, so I am going to give up and let the photos explain it. I do want to just say thanks to Matt A (and his housemates (Chunk)) for allowing us to crash at his house for the whole weekend, thanks to everyone provided lifts and thanks to God for giving us Gomez.

Whatta weekend! The pictures are great and have reminded me of many wonderful things I had forgotten. I especially love the photo of what appears to be an angry Phil Neville working as a bouncer. And Gomez’s tamer version of Hellraiser.

  10. Sorry Matt, I got home and decided I didn’t want rice in my stomach any more. I seem to be making a habit of getting sick at Ahearne households!

  11. Welcome to the gay age, Mr Kelly.

It was a great weekend. I can’t wait for the UnCoolio and Lil’ G single to start storming up the charts!

And I don’t want to hear any more one-night-a-week comments from those that couldn’t even handle the whole weekend and decided to go “window-shopping”.

  13. Well Mr May, at least some of us left at a reasonable hour on Sunday, I guess the fear of being out of Potters Bar just got too much?

  14. How could I bear to be away from mighty PB.

I had to leave early on Sunday… I had a family meal to get back by 1230 for (and I was given alcohol the moment I walked through the door, not exactly what I was expecting). By the way, where were you on Sunday night?

  16. I had to get the 5.30am train to Bristol so thought it wise to try and get some sleep. The Straff didn’t run out of tiny bottles of Becks did they?

  17. Thankfully not. I was drinking Carlsberg though. We went to the Byng by the end of the night where Kelly fell asleep on a table. It seemed like a fitting end to the weekend.

I realised at that point that I hadn’t had a row all weekend, so decided to start one with the guy that works in the cab office!
