Cars
As far as personal interests go, I find motor cars thoroughly enjoyable. The faster the better, in my opinion. Some people say that people who drive flashy cars are trying to make up for other shortcomings in their life; that may well be true, but personally I think it’s just the immature side to me coming out that I normally hide so well. Here’s a list of the ones I’ve owned over the years.
- Ford Escort MkVI 1.6. The first car I ever drove (on my own). It was my mum’s to be specific, so I guess I didn’t actually own it but that didn’t stop me pretending. She was surprisingly liberal in allowing me to drive it. For a first car I thought it pretty nippy and to be honest I wouldn’t have let me drive it at 17!

- Ford Focus 1.6. Again, this was my mum’s car. She traded in her escort for the must-have family car of the decade. I don’t remember much noticing too much different about the way the car drove, but Colin Mcrae had used in Rallys, so I thought myself quite the man.

- VW Golf Mk II 1.3. My first ever car. I bought this for around £800 in around 1999. It drove like an absolute tank, but it was all mine! As any sensible, young man does with his first car, I spent all my savings modifying it. I added alloy wheels, big bore exhausts, a body kit, a big stereo and even had it lowered. All these efforts still failed in getting it to do a sub 10 minute 0-60 time, but as they say now-a-days; my ride was officially pimped. Unfortunately for me, some bastard stole it when I went to University.

- VW Golf R32. This was my most recent car which I’ve now sold. It had a 3.2 litre V6 engine and just about every accessory you could want in a car. It was pretty quick and did handle very well, but all those extras did make it quite a bulky boy.
